Class Reunion held in the Clock Hotel

Unlike our previous reunions (Class '62) which would normally be held in Newcastle it was decided to have our next get together in a pub - and so the Clock Hotel in Hebburn was chosen it being central to most of the regular participants. it was also suggested that we might get more of the male variety to come along and 'meet the gang' which proved to be the case.

For many of us it was the first visit to this pub even though it was passed on our daily routes to and from school. Initially, only Val Shearer (yr 62), Enid Armstrong (yr 62) Jean Ridley (yr 62) and her sister Mollie (yr 64) Judith Wallis (yr 72) Christine Hughes (yr 59) with her husband and Elaine Garvey (yr 62) were there. We arrived shortly after Brenda Patterson (yr 62) Elaine Robson (yr 62) Ethel Pattinson (yr 62) Eleanor Stacey (yr 62) and myself Brenda Joyce (yr 62). Joan Dickinson (yr 62) and Margaret Sibbald (yr 61) followed to swell the throng along with Pauline Ducker (yr 61) James Waddle (yr 65) who had traveled up from London, John Burnett (yr 63) George Martin (yr 63) - not of the Beatles fame (he wishes), George Carr (yr 75) Dennis Carr (yr 68) Dave Oxberry (yr 63) and last but not least our very own Lance Liddle (yr 53). The conversations were flying with every topic under the sun being talked about - past and present jobs, romantic attachments, children, holidays, escapades at school, memories of certain teachers (naming no names) some good some bad, genealogy which quite a number of folks are researching now and of course the old chestnut - football. Some of the group had brought class photos along and so the guessing game began - trying to put names to faces and wondering what happened to them etc.
