Doris Richardson - left 1936.
Val Allen (nee Shearer) has kindly loaned me her mother's school report book.
Her mother, Doris Richardson, who left JCS in 1936.
Older visitors to the site may recollect Meikles Dairy on Tennant Street in Hebburn.
Her father, Philip Richardson, was the proprietor of the dairy which served the needs of Hebburn folk for many years - probably until, that Mecca of Commerce, The Hebburn Shopping Centre was spawned.
The book is bound in plain, brown, paper, as so many of our schoolbooks were in those days (as well as some of our 'non-school' books!)
That Doris was no slouch can be indicated by the glowing report given by the headmaster at the time, A.W.Dawson.
Another name will be recognised by pupils from later years - Miss Ella Carr whilst the initials WMR must surely stand for William Ramsey.
Doris' class positions moved from 17th in 1934 to 1st in 1935.
